A contemporary all-inclusive resort with a family-friendly vibe, Now Amber Puerto Vallarta is one of the better beach resorts in the downtown PV area. Some restaurants are located at the Secrets sister property next door (where kids aren’t allowed), the beach is only decent overall (though it’s above average for the Puerto Vallarta vicinity), and beach vendors can be aggressive; but the property offers an excellent swimming pool area (there are three separate pools, including a kid’s pool with a waterslide), an Explorer’s Club for kids (with activities such as movies on the beach, rock climbing, treasure hunts, and sand castle contests), a teen lounge called the Core Zone, a trendy swim-up bar, great restaurant variety and quality (especially for an all-inclusive), a new casino opened in 2018, and an outstanding 14,000-square-foot spa with treatments such as seaweed body wraps and hot stone massages. The all-suite hotel boasts beautiful accommodations; the rooms have a modern feel and come with balconies, alluring bedding, and orange accents. Some have swim-out pool access. Activities include jet skiing, beach volleyball, parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and a seasonal sea turtle release program, among much more. Complimentary greens fees at one of two nearby golf courses are included. There’s also an excellent selection of off-site shops and restaurants within walking distance; the Malecon Boardwalk isn’t too far, either (it’s a quick taxi ride).
Complimentary COVID-19 antigen tests are provided on-site for guests traveling back to the United States. Test results will be received the same day in a format consistent with government requirements. A minimum 3-night stay is required to qualify. Should a guest test positive, the guest and one other are eligible to stay at the resort free of charge for up to 14 days.
